CONDITIONS RATHER MILDER Forecast for Otago.—The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington >- Light to moderate west to north-west winds predominating.. Weather fair to fine and rather milder. Seas slight. Dominion Forecast —An anti-cyclone extends over New Zealand from the north Tasman Sea. Weather for the most part fair, except for scattered morning drizzle or fog, especially in the North Island. Conditions gradually becoming unsettled, however, in western and far southern areas of the South Island. Sharp frosts in the south again at night, but temperatures rather milder in the day. Weather in Dunedin.—The sun shone brightly yesterday and conditions were warm. There was practically no wind and the barometer rose to 30.33 inches (1027 millibars). The maximum temperature was 55 degrees. Barometer, inches and millibars: 8 a.m., 80.26 (1025); noon. 30.25 (1024): 6 p.m., 30.30 (1026); midnight, 30.33 (1027). Thermometer: 8 a.m., 45 degrees; noon, 52 degrees: 6 p.m„ 48 degrees; midnight, 45 degrees Maximum, 55 degrees; minimum, 37 degrees. Rainfall for 24 hours ended midnight yesterday—nil. Sunshine for 24 hours ended midnight yesterday—Before noon, 2hr 40min, after noon, 2hr 35mih. Total, shr 15min.
