Monday, May 13 (Before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M.) Drunkenness Two statutory first; offenders for drunkenness, Henry Walton Phillips and Andrew Coburn Goodlet, were each fined 10s. Alleged Theft John Joseph Whitty was charged with the theft of three watches, valued at £6 2s, the property of Herbert John Harrap, at Wellington, on December 28, 1939.—0 n the application of Detective Sergeant Hall, the accused was remanded to appear at Wellington on May 17.—An application for the suppression of the accused's name was refused. Charges Adjourned Bernard Walter Tremaine and George Burrows were each charged with using obscene language and with disorderly behaviour in a public place.—On the application of Mr O. G. Stevens, the charges were adjourned to May 24. Maintenance Alexander McCullough was charged with the disobedience of a maintenance order and arrears amounting to £22 10s. —The defendant was sentenced to six weeks' imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended provided the defendant paid £7 10s by May 10, £7 10s by June 10, and £7 10s by July 1.
