NOT ONE MAN'S DOING
The world tragedies which are now being endured are but an emphasised manifestation of individual and collective lawlessness, writes an American iournalist. Mr Frank L. Perrin. The stubborn, selfish and wicked disregard which has marked the nrogress of totalitarian rule in countries- beyond the seas must, in its inception, have been encouraged or condoned by many millions of people who now see the unwisdom .of failure to assert their rights to freedom, equality and safety from violence. Wars cannot be engendered and waged by one man or by one clique or incipient class. War is the cataclysmic manifestation of hatred fostered by fear, covetousness, or the fancied desire for revenge or reprisal. The accumulated forces, vapid cr destructive, have their source in the hearts and thoughts of men.
