Bayley—Connelly A pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Joseph's Cathedral on Saturday morning, when Charles Alphonsus, youngest son of Mr and Mrs F. W. Bayley, of Greymouth, was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Ailsa Mary, second daughter of Mr M. Connelly. MP., and Mrs Connelly, of Dunedin. The Rev. Father Gavin performed the ceremony. The bride wore a smart frock under a fawn model coat, with brown velvet turban and accessories to match. Miss Elva Sinclair aGted as bridesmaid, and Mr E. Dolan as best man. The happy couple left later for Christchurch and a tour of the West Coast. Wethey—Smith s St. Michael's Anglican Church. Anderson's Bay, had been beautifully decorated by friends of the bride for the marriage on the evening of April 27 of Robert Edward, elder son of Mr and Mrs E. H. Wethey. of Papanui, Christchurch. and Catherine Marjorie, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs R. Smith, of Anderson's Bay. The Rev. J. N. Thompson officiated. The bride made an attractive picture in a gown of magnolia silhouette georgette, featuring a heart-shaped neckline and flared skirt shirred at the back and extending into a graceful train. Her plain tulle veil was arranged from a topknot of lilies. She carried a sheaf of lilium auratum and Miss Winifred Smith, sister of the bride, and Miss Joyce Himburg (cousin) were dressed alike in iceblue winro georgette made with full puff sleeves, ruched shoulders, and full bustle skirts. Their unusual ruched hats of matching georgette were trimmed with velvet ribbons. They carried sheaves of pink roses and ixias.

The bridegroom was .attended by Mr Henry Ridley as best manj and Mr Bill Wethey as groomsman.. Messrs Jim Himburg and Ray Bezett acted as ushers. At a dance and reception held later at the R.S.A. Rooms the guests were received by Mrs Smith, who wore a smart navy and white ensemble, with velour hat to tone. Mrs Wethey assisted her, wearing an attractive navy gown, hat to match, and fur cape. Each hostess wore a shoulder spray of pink roses. When Mr and Mrs R. E. Wethey left for the north the bride was wearing a smart chocolate coloured costume, with velour hat and accessories to tone. A pretty wedding was solemnised at First Church, Dunedin, on Monday last between "William Alexander, eldest son of Mr and Mrs J. Cherry, of Dunedin, and Elizabeth Mary, second daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Ross, also of Dunedin. The Rev. A. Steveley officiated and Miss M. McDonald presided at the organ. The bride looked charming in a gown of white georgette, featuring a full skirt, waist shirring and three rows of velvet ribbons as trimming. The bodice, which was pin tucked, was finished at the neckline with flowers. An embroidered tulle veil was held in position with a coronet of flowers, and an arm sheaf of Madonna lilies and gladioli completed an attractive ensemble. -,... r, iT In attendance were Misses Dorothy Ross, Iris Mains and Myra Cherry, who were gowned alike in pink georgette with shirred bodices, netal sleeves and full skirts finished fit the waist with velvet ribbons. They carried ruched muffs of green georgette, and wore coronets of matching flowers. The bridegroom was supported by Mr Bernard Fairbairn as best man. and by Messrs Ron Cherry and George Mills as groomsman. The duties of ushers were carried out bv Messrs Nathan Peacock arid Allan Cherry At a reception held later the Crawford Lounge the guests were received by the bride's mother (wearing a frock of navy blue cloque with beige trimmings, a fur cape and navy hat). She was assisted by the mother, who wore a frock of black sheer, a wool lace coat and black hat. Both carried bouquets to tone. For travelling the bride wore a clover frock and fur coat, and accessories to tone.
