QUEENSTOWN

Regatta Club The Queenstown Regatta Committee met last week, Mr J. C. Scott presiding. The receipts from the 1940 regatta were shown to be £l4l 6s, the main sources of revenue being: Subscriptions £76 3s. entries £l9 4s 6d, launch takings £l4 12s, and the dance £27 17s 6d. The expenditure was £127 12s Bd. . The chairman, thanking all who had assisted, stated that the regatta had proved as popular as ever. It was decided to recommend to the incoming committee the necessity for having the names of all winning clubs engraved up to date on cups and trophies. It was also resolved that the Marine Department be requested to reserve a certain portion of the foreshore beyond the wharf for the racing boats.
