WHERE WAS DR SCHACHT? ITALIAN LINER HELD AMERICAN REPORTS DERIDED LONDON, Mar. 23.. (Received Mar. 24, at 8 p.m.) In reference to reports from New York alleging that the Italian liner Gonte Di Savoia was held for 13 hours by the British authorities while a vain search was made for Dr Schacht. German Minister with-

out portfolio, it is learned that the London authorities received information that there might be certain passengers travelling with false passports. The delay of 13 hours is not regarded as excessive in the circumstances. Berlin official circles state that Dr Schacht is at present in Berlin. The Berlin correspondent of the American Associated Press says that Dr Schacht, when interviewed by long distance telephone at his Brandenburg farm, laughed at the American reports that he was believed to be on board the Conte Di Savoia.
