“ The war which is at present being waged in Europe will have a serious effect on Rugby and other sports in this Dominion, as such sports will certainly be somewhat curtailed on account of many young men joining the military forces,” stated the president of the Wanganui Rugby Referees’ Association, Mr N. Reid, in his annual report adopted last Monday night. “It behoves all our members, during the continuance of the war, to help, the Rugby Union in any way possible to foster the game for the benefit of these able to take part.”.
