The Weather ■-... ;*.- The weather gives every indication of continuing, fine for the; holidays. Beautifully bright, sunny days are being experienced at present, ' arid should be ideal for the large number of holiday-makers which are due at Alexandra over Easter Farewell to Soldier Corporal W. Dougherty was the guest of honour at a social function at Earnscleugh on Monday evening. Mr Charles Weaver presented the guest with an inscribed wristlet watch with the best wishes of the Earnscleugh Farewell Committee and the meeting. Mr J. R. McKissock. the president of the Alexandra Returned Soldier*' Association, also wished good luck .to the guest and the other district members of the second echelon who were present. Dougherty. and F. McCartney, and Privates J. Thomson. T. Muir, and H. Madigan are spending their leave with relatives in Alexandra. -. It has become necessary for Mr Charles Weaver to enter the Dunedin Hospital for medical treatment.
