VISITS TO MAIN PORTS PROPOSAL UNDER CONSIDERATION (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON. Feb. 29. After undergoing a refit at the Devonport Naval Base. Auckland. H.M.S. Achilles will probably pay visits to the other main New Zealand ports so that local citizens can do honour to the officers and men who played such a distinguished and gallant part in the Battle of the River PI cl tc When asked last evening about the possibility of the Achilles coming to Wellington, the Minister of Defence (Mr F. Jones) said the Government hoped it would be possible for the ship to visit other main New Zealand ports after it had finished its refit and the men had been given leave. No actual decision had been made, as there were. certain circumstances that would have to be considered.
