■ THE CGOKE BANNER OTAGO’S SUCCESS RAIN INTERRUPTS PLAY The Southland- Ladies’ Bowling Association lost the Cooke Banner yesterday to Otago after having held it since 1935. Played on the Otago Ladies’ Bowling Association’s No. 2 green at Logan Park, the match was mainly in Otago’s favour, although the Southland players won two games. With a lead of 47 points on the day, the Otago representatives had a clear-cut victory. The green was on the heavy. side and there were two interruptions because of rain. Details:— O. S.
