ANNUAL MATCH CHRISTCHURCH AND OTAGO LOCAL TEAM’S SUCCESS (Special to Daily Times) CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 25. Both the Hanmer and GampbellHosking Shields were retained by the Otago Golf Club in it annual match against the Christchurch Golf Club today. , The Hanmer. Shield, a foursome competition, was won by the Otago Club by one hole, and the CampbellHosking Shield, a Singles competition, resulted in a draw with four matches each. The Hanmer Shield competitionis decided on the individual holes won. The Otago Club’s win in the Hanmer Shield created an oustanding record. The win was the first recorded away from home since 1910.

Following are the results (Christchurch .names first): — Hanmer Sheild. —C. J. Ward and E. J. Pumphrey beat A, G. Sime and J. A. Secular one up; J. W. Jackson and J. L. Blair beat T. B. Ferguson and J. N. Lemon, 3 up; I. B. Cromb and R. G. Hay-Makenzie lost to-W. G. Wight and J. H. McDougall 1 down; D. S. McLean and L. A. Dougall lost to J, C. Davies and A. H.,Boyd 4 down. Totals: Otago, 5 holes; Christchurch, 4 holes.

Campbell-Hosking Shield—C. J. Ward lost to A. G. Sime at the nineteenth; E. J. Pumphrey lost to J. A. Scoular 2 down; J. W. Jackson lost to T. B. Ferguson, 2 and 1; J. L. Blair beat J. N. Anderson was elected as the ladies’ representative pn -the club committee. The opening day will be held on Tuesday, March 5, when an L.G.U. match will be played.
