BAG-SNATCHING
YOUNG WOMAN ATTACKED . FRUITLESS PURSUIT OF ASSAILANT As she was walking along a right-of-way off Melville street at 10.30 on Friday night, a young woman was suddenly grabbed from behind by a man. Her arms were pinioned to her sides and her handbag was snatched from her. She screamed loudly and the man made off. The woman’s cries were heard by nearby residents, some of whom set off in pursuit of the man, who had run down Stafford street, but they failed to catch him. Fortunately for the young woman there were only keys and private papers in her bag and these were later found in' a flowerbed in Broadway. The bag has not been found.
