SUCCESSFUL MEETING OVERCAST WINS DODGE CUP The Dunedin Whippet Racing Club held a successful meeting on Saturday at the club’s grounds at Tahuna Park. The fields were small, but nevertheless the racing was interesting. The Aramac Cup was won by G. Campbell’s Will Fyffe. W. Winchesters Overcoat was the winner of the Dodge Cup for open class dogs. The attendance was larger than usual, and the tracks were in first-class condition; The following officials controlled the meeting:—Starter. Mr J. Glass; judges, Messrs R. E. Brown and G. Little; timekeeper, Mr A. Beattie; scale steward, Mr J. G. Turner; colour steward, Mr E. Manley; track stewards, Messrs T. Hodge arid W. H. Turner; honorary handicapper. Mr G. N. Kemp, i Results:— NOVICE HANDICAP (175 yards) t W. Winchester’s Shadeland. limit .. 1 P. .McKinlay’s Mr Mac, limit .. 2 C. Menhinnick’s War Cry,, limit .. 3 Cock Robin also started, but was disqualified for beating the gun. Shadeland won by a head, with War Cry one length away third. Time, 11 l-ssec.

DODGE CUP ...... (175 yards) , , First Heat. —W. Winchester’s Overcast, 12yds, 1; W. Guthrie’s Tamerlane. Tvds. 2; W. Easson’s Snowdrift. 124yds, 3. Second Heat.—C. Unwin’s Hot Luck, 74yds, 1; P. McKinlay’s Phantom Gold, 114yds. 2; W. Winchester’s Bucks Head, 7yds. 3. Final Overcast 1 Hot Luck 2 Phantom Gold .... .. 3 Also started: Tamerlane, Snowdrift, smd Bucks Head. Overcast led practically all the way, and won by half a length from the fast-finishing Hot Luck, with Phantom Gold a length away in third place. Bucks Head left his lane'near the finish of the race and was disqualified. Time, 10 2-ssec. ARAMA CUP (175 yards) G. Campbell’s Will Fyffe 1 Mrs T. Fraser’s Cock Robin .. ~ 2 Mrs M. W. McKinlay’s Replica .. 3 Also started: Shadeland and Ginger Jack. All dogs started off the scratch mark.. This was another thrilling finish, the placed dogs crossing the line with only noses between them. Time, 10 4-ssec. SECOND CLASS HANDICAP (175 yards) Mrs C. Unwin’s Gipsy Fair, 124yds 1 Menhinnick and de Courcey’s Irish Paddy, 124yds .. .. 2 R. de Courcey’s Scottish Pet, 12yds 3 Also started: Snowdrift 124yds. Gipsy Fair led all the way to win by half a head, with Scottish pet a head away third. Time, 10 4-ssec. OPEN HURDLES HANDICAP (Five flights; 175 yards) A. Keenan’s Ginger Jack, 17yds .. 1 W. H. Turner’s Cashier, 104yds .. 2 Mrs Menhinnick’s King Midas, 13yds 3 Also started: Tamerlane 134yds, who was disqualified. This race was a chapter of accidents. King Midas and Tamerlane crashed. Ginger Jack won easily by three lengths, with King Midas 10 lengths farther back. Time. 12 2-ssec.
