FURTHER ENLISTMENTS DENTAL TREATMENT IN CAMP AMENDED REGULATIONS Two parties of volunteers in the Special Force left for camp at Ngaruawahia yesterday, a smaller draft is to leave for Trentham by the'second express to-day, and a large party will go to Burnham by the first express tomorrow. Enlistment officers in the No. 11 area •re still being kept busy, mostly by applications made by single men. A further amendment has been made to the conditions governing dental attention to volunteers. These were recently amended so that all work except that requiring lengthy treatmentextractions, in particular—was to be done in camp. Now, it is announced that complete medical service will be provided by dentists in camp. TO STIMULATE RECRUITING MEETING AT HAWERA (Per United Press Association) HAWERA, Jan. 10. At a public meeting called by the Mayor of Hawera. at the request of the Government, to stimulate recruiting,, it was resolved that the Minister of Defence be requested to define "reserved occupations," and also men classified unfit to replace fit men in essential occupations, who volunteer for service. It was further recommended that a local board, similar to the Council of Primary Production, be set up In each centre to assist recruiting. TARANAKI CONTINGENT QUOTA LIKELY TO BE FILLED (Per United Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Jan. 10. The Taranaki contingent of 187 men who will leave on Friday to go .into camp with the second echelon is 37 short of the quota for the province, but in addition there are 12 men classed as fit who will leave next week and -40 recruits yet to be examined. The early filling of the quota is now expected.
