INTOXICATED IN CHARGE

LAPSE BY SOLDIER TWO YEARS’ PROBATION (Per United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 14. A soldier from Burnham Camp, Alexander Smythe, aged 34, was convicted and ordered to come up foi sentence within two years if called on when he appeared in the Magistrate’? Court this morning, charged with being intoxicated in charge of- a private motor car. The magistrate, Mr E. C Levvey, made an order that Smythe was not to drive any but militarj vehicles. Counsel said there would not be the slightest chance of Smythe being intoxicated in charge of a military vehicle. Military discipline would see to that.
