“UNCLE SCRIM”
SUPPORT FOR SUNDAY BROAD* CASTS. WATERSIDE WORKERS’ APPROVAL PRESS AND FARMERS CENSURED Support for the Sunday broadcasts of the Director of Commercial Breadcasting (Mr C. G. Scrimgeour) t was unanimously given by Dunedin waterside workers at the monthly stop-work meeting of the local branch of the New Zealand Waterside Workers 1 ' Uriion yesterday, when a resolution of appreciation of “Uncle Scrim’s” addresses and of censure oh the activities of the press and the New Zealand Farmers’ Union was carried. The resolution was as follows: ■ “That this meeting of waterside workers supports the ‘Man in'the Street’ session conducted by Uncle Scrim; that they believe that the instructive addresses are in the interests of the workers of New Zealand: that; they support wholeheartedly Uncle Scrim in his efforts for the workers; and that the meeting deplores the attempts of the daily press and the Farmers’ Union to cause political and economic discord when all our efforts should be towards the unification of the nation.”
