HOLY NAME SCHOOL
ENTERTAINING CONCERT BY PUPILS Pupils of the Holy Name School last night gave a most enjoyable concert to a large audience in the Town Hall Concert Chamber. A feature of the presentation was the outstanding costuming of the children, which showed what a great amount of work had been put in by those responsible for the concert. A well-varied and attractive programme was presented and both in the concerted and the individual items a high standard of performance prevailed. The following was the programmerChoruses, " Now is the Month of Maying," "Cherry Ripe," and "The Oars are Plashing Lightly"; verse-speak-ing items, "The King Goes By," "Once I Saw a Little Boat," and "Spring"; action song, "Hoop Song"; play, "Snow White"; action song, The Gleaners"; play. "Old King Cole'; folk dance, "Gathering Peascods ; play, "Ernscliff Hall"; song in character, "When I Grow Too Old to Dream," Misses L. Gale and R Ryan; percussion band items. "Vale Nobles, "Rule Britannia," "La Marseillaise," and "God Defend New Zealand'; verse-speaking numbers. "Tarantella. "The Bittern," and "The Song of the Sea Wind"; dance. Master Bilhe Shaw; action song, "Ireland. I Love You"; dance. Irish jig; humorous item. "Daylight Courage"; action song, "Too Late."
