TUNG OIL
PRODUCTION STARTED (Per United Press Association) WHANGAREI, Nov. 23. What is claimed to be the first tung oil extracted in a British dominion was secured at a factory near Kaikoha yesterday. Nine hundred acres were planted seven years ago, and now there are over 3000 acres, with approximately 250,000 tung trees. It is expected to export two tons of oil this year. Tung oil is worth £2OO a ton.
