OBITUARY

MR P. J. CURTIN

The death occurred on Friday of Mr Peter James Curtin, a prominent member of the Dunedin Returned Soldiers Association, who at one time was well known in the tailoring trade in New Zealand. Born in 1871. Mr Curtin was a noted athlete in his younger days. Besides being a prominent member of the Lawrence Rugby Football Club he competed with marked success at athletic meetings all over New Zealand and in Australia. He was a popular competitor, and at all times was a keen supporter of all sports. Mr Curtin was a tailor by occupation, and was engaged in his trade in many parts of New Zealand and Australia. Some vears ago he was able to retire, but he continued to take a deep interest in tailoring. Mr Curtin did a great deal to help returned soldiers who were in need of assistance, and he was very popular with his fellow members. He is survived by three brothers —Messrs Patrick. John and Edward Curtin, MRS H. M. SWANWICK LONDON. Nov. 19, (Received Nov. 19, at 11 p.m.) The death has occurred of Mr s H. M. Swan wick, at the ago of 75. She was editor for many years of the British monthly. Foreign Affairs.
