THE MACDONALD MINE
ROUGH STATE OF ROAD MEN DEMAND REPAIRS (Per United Press Association) HAMILTON, Oct. 31. As a protest against the rough state of the road leading to the Macdonald mine the men this morning refused to start work until repairs to the road are undertaken. The decision, which affects about 200 men, arose out of an accident at the mine yesterday, when a trucker employed at the mine, William Moyes, aged 32, received a fractured leg when he was caught between some skids while at work. The accident occurred at 1.30 p.m. and the man was not admitted to the hospital till 6, owing to the ambulance being unable to negotiate the road to the mine, which is about a mile long.
