COMPLAINT AGAINST OAMARU GARAGES A complaint that he had been charged 3s a gallon for petrol at Oamaru was received from a 'motorist at the monthly meeting of the Automobile Association (South Canterbury). It had been stated that Oamaru garages had agreed to charge 3s a gallon but the secretary of the North Otago branch wrote to the effect that this was incorrect. Garages in Oamaru charged Is opening fee for supplying petrol after 8 p.m. Members decided to make Inquiries as to the legality of this charge.
