In response to numerous requests I have decided to offer mv services for the position of DIRECTOR. As my whole livelihood is derived from dairying, my endeavours will be (if elected) to help direct the policy of the company towards obtaining the largest returns possible to the producer. As all Dairy Companies receive the same fixed price for their manufactured product, the fact that the cream suppliers of Otago receive less than the dairymen of other provinces, and considerably less than what an efficiently run factory should return under the Government Guaranteed Price is surely evidence that reorganisation of the Industry in Otago is overdue. In many districts where reorganisation has taken place (through amalgamation and zoning) the price paid to the Producer exceeds the Guaranteed Price. By investigation it has been proved that at least one half-penny per lb butter-fat could be saved to the producer in Otago by amalgamation. Any sound project that would increase the return to Dairymen would have my whole-hearted support. If elected I pledge myself to conserve not only the interests of suppliers, but the interests of the company as a whole.
