FORECAST FOR OTAGO CONTINUATION OF FINE SPELL The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Light to fresh easterly to northerly winds. Weather fine and mild. Seas slight to moderate. DOMINION FORECAST FROSTS'PREDICTED The following is the official weather forecast for the Dominion:— An intense anti-cyclone, with its centre near Hawke's Bay. still covers the Dominion. Weak disturbances are located near Norfolk Island and in the South Tasman Sea.' Indications are for:— Winds.—Fresh easterlies over the Auckland Peninsula, elsewhere variable, but with moderate northerlies predominating and freshening at times in the south. Seas.—New Zealand waters: Rather rough on the eastern side of the Auckland Peninsula and to the west of Foveaux Strait, otherwise slight. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light to moderate winds and moderate seas in the central portion, fresh northerly winds and rather rough seas in the northern and southern portions. Weather.— Continuing fine and settled over most of the country, some light rain probable, however, in North Auckland, and conditions later becoming, unsettled in the south-western sounds area. Mild day, but cool night temperatures, with frosts probable in both islands. WEATHER IN DUNEDIN Fine, spring weather wes again experienced yesterday, when the sun shone brightly throughout and temperatures were mild, the maximum being 62 degrees. The barometer was steady at 30.45 inches, but rose in the evening to 30.50 inches (1033 millibars). There was a light breeze from the north-east. The weather to-day was cloudy but fine, with a moderate easterly wind. The maximum temperature was 61 degrees and the minimum 53 degrees. The barometer dropped slightly, the 5 o'clock reading being 30.36 inches, or 1028 millibars. WELLINGTON. Oct. 4. A perfect spring day with brilliant sunshine was experienced to-day. There was a very light breeze from the north-west.
