"I feel that our immediate duty as teachers is to keep our girls happily and busily occupied in their normal work and play and so to protect them as long as and as much as possible from the sense of insecurity which surrounds us and which is so harmful to the sane and healthy development of children," stated the principal, Miss M. E. Baker, in her report presented to last week's meeting of the Board of Governors of the Wanganui Girls' College. "It is inevitable that later on they will be called on to make sacrifices, and will want to do so. For this reason all the end of the year functions and activities will take place."
