LONDON COMPLETES THE FINAL PREPARATIONS FOR WAR I.—A patient being carried between the sandbags at St. Bartholomews’ Hospital, London, as the evacuation of hospitals was commenced before the outbreak of war. 2.-King George, by the Duke of Gloucester and Mr Leslie Hore-Belisha (the War Minister, behind his Majesty) leaving the War Office after an official visit to the headquarters of the fighting services. 3.-A section of an anti-aircraft battery established in a London park. 4.-Bomb proof sentry boxes being buttressed with sandbags at the gates of Buck ingham Palace. 5.-one of the civic buildings which has been protected with thousands of sandbags and fitted as a first-aid clearing station. 6.-Students of Guy’s Hospital, stripped to the waist, erecting a sandbag protection around the statue of Sir Thomas Guy.
