WRESTLING
McCREADY v. WRIGHT Earl McCready. the British Empire wrestling champion, does not have to look far for worth-while opponents this year. After his title engagement with Bhu Finder at Auckland he will be seen in the Dunedin Town Hall against another recent addition to the Dominion Union’s forces. Rube Wright, from Texas. Wright is said to be all the evidence that could be required that the standard of the men under the union’s control is being kept at an unusually high level right to the end Of the year, and it is believed that he will make matters more than interesting for the Canadian. Wright has an old score to settle with McCready. as he feels that the win which the latter secured against him in London was largelv due to the fact that the bout was decided under pure ‘‘catch-as-catch-can ” conditions without the latitude that is allowed in respect to more rugged measures in this country. Wright has done well under restricted rules, having beaten several European champions under conditions differing verv little from those observed at the Olympic Games, but the American all-in style is the one at which he is said to do best. Local followers of the snort however, will agree that he will find McCready a toufdi proposition in any circumstances The Canadian has had experience against all sorts of opponents and it is not necessary to po past his performances against "Rang Kong” Cox to clear up any doubts that there may be about his ability to deal with men who depend upon ruggedness.
