MADAME OLGA COELHO A singer with a classical background who is said to be able to translate her art to the popular national songs of her own country and make others see visions as she portrays them is Madame Olga Coelho. noted Brazilian singer who will arrive in New Zealand from Continental and London successes Mr A J Tait. who is well known through managerial association with numerous concert celebrities will introduce Madame Coelho to the Dominion and the New Zealand tour will be inaugurated in the Concert Chamber on Saturday. September 2. when matinee and night performances will be given. At the conclusion of the series of concerts Madame Coelho will appear in Australia before departing for South Africa On the concert platform Olga Coelho has been acclaimed for her singing and for her supplementing of her programme with guitar harmonies Her original transcriptions for the guitar are said to reveal an artist of superlative knowledge and intuitive understanding of a universal human appeal while her picturesque and animated commentaries that precede each interpretation should interest and amuse the audience.
