Personal Mr A. W. Osman. who has been on the staff of the Gore Magistrate's Court for the past two years, left on Tuesday for Invercargill to take up a position on the Supreme Court staff. Prior to his departure Mr Osman was accorded a farewell by members of the - Gore police and court staffs, and a presentation of a wallet of. notes was made by Sergeant D. W. Black. Bowling Sub-centre A decision to alter the headquarters of the Eastern Southland Bowling Subcentre from Mataura to Gore to meet the changed conditions arising from the inclusion of clubs in Northern Southland and West Otago was made at the annual meeting of the subcentre at Mataura on Tuesday evening. Previously Mataura was the geographical centre for Gore, Wyndham and Edendale. but the inclusion of Tapanui and Lumsden and the possibility of affiliations coming from Clinton and Riversdale have made it necessary to find more central headquarters. The question was introduced by the Wyndham delegates, and after a short discussion a' motion to change the headquarters from Mataura to Gore was carried unanimously. The meeting was presided over by Mr John Buchanan (Mataura), and delegates were present from the Gore, Hokonui, Mataura, Wyndham and Edendale Clubs. Following the adoption of the annual report and balancp sheet, the officers were elected as follows: —President. Mr S. Preece (Gore); secretary. Mr J. Ritchie; Fixtures Committee. Messrs Preece and Ritchie; selector. Mr I. W. Martin. It was decided that the Eastern Southland club competition be of one round, and that four rinks be played in each match, with the proviso that clubs able to field only three rinks must notify their opponents two days before the match. The secretary was instructed to communicate with the South Otago Sub-centre with a view to arranging a date for the annual match. It was agreed that the TownEastern match and the Eastern Southland championships be played on the Mataura' green. On the suggestion of Mv T. Hickey (Edendale), it was agreed to advise clubs that the practice of players having a roll-up before matches must be discontinued. The meeting decided that the annual meeting be held in the first week in August each year.
