BANISHING THE WORRY LINES

THAT YOUNG-OLD LOOK It is not always the elderly people who have lines and wrinkles on their faces. You have only to walk along the street and notice the girls who are still in their early twenties with "tired" or "frown lines" making quite a network of lines and wrinkles around their eyes and on their foreheads. These are the young-old people which this age and generation is developing. And these are the people for whom this article is intended (says a writer in the Sydney Morning Herald). Whilst drastic treatments are never advisable for these "lines," there are many simple treatments which will not only prevent their appearance, but which will tone up the skin to such a pitch that many of the lines and wrinkles will completely disappear. There are many ways of tonine up the skin. One very simple method is to slap the face with a cloth which is frequently dipped in cold water. Another method is to wrap a piece of cloth around a small lump of ice and massage the skin with it. But these methods are only for toning up youthful skins, and, although they are excellent they will not be sufficient for young-old people. They require a stronger, though harmless method of treatment. And it is here that the Epsom salts treatment is helpful. This type of treatment should be a favourite with every woman. It is cheap, simple, and wonderfully effective for cleaning, toning up, and ironing lines from the skin. You will require two basins, a packet of Epsom salts, cleansing cream, nourishing cream, and facial tissues Fill one basin with very warm water and the other with very cold water. Then lake your cleansing cream and smear it very thickly over all the face, allow it to remain on the skin for a few minutes, and then gently remove with cleansing tissues before applying a further thinner coating of the cream. Allow this cream to remain on the skin whilst you are preparing your bowls of Epsom salts water. Place two tablespoons of the Epsorr salts in each bowl, and, whilst the salts are dissolving, remove the second oating of cream from the face wtih tissues. Make sure that every vestige is removed and that not a single scrap of cream remains on the skin. Now take a clean face cloth, plunge it into the warm salts water, squeeze it a little, and then hold it to the face, making sure that the whole of the face is covered with the cloth. As soon as you feel the cloth becoming cool, dip it again in the warm salts water and re-apply it to the skin. Carry this out five or six times Then take a second cloth and dip it in the cold salts water and, without wringing it out, hold it up against the face. Repeat this application about 12 times. Then pat your face dry and you will find that the skin has been invigorated. Many of those "tired" lines will have disappeared as though by magic, and after a course of a week's treatments you will hardly know yourself. There is magic in the Epsom salts and your skin will be sparkling with life and colour.
