AUSTRALIAN SOCIETY SOCIAL
TWO VISITORS WELCOMED
The Australian Society held its monthly social on Saturday evening last. Mr and Mrs A. A. Paape, the host and hostess, received members and their friends in the lounge, which was tastefully arranged with large bowls of spring flowers. Mr A. Glue, as M.C., had arranged a programme of old and new dances, the "Lambeth Walk" and the "Jolly Miller Waltz" being general favourites, while a community "sing" conducted by Mr McNeil was much enjoyed. Vocal numbers were rendered by Miss Daphne Morrison and Mr George Bridge, with Mrs Kerr and Mrs W C. Chandler acting as accompanists. A Monte Carlo waltz competition was won by Miss C. McKay and Mrs Maxwell. Card games occupied those in the lounge, the winner being Mrs D. Wark.
