EXTRADITION ORDER

THEFT OF SEWING MACHINE ALLEGED ACCUSED LEAVES IN CUSTODY CPer United Press Association; AUCKLAND, Aug. 22. Arrested in Auckland on a provisional warrant issued in Melbourne on July 4, Thomas Frederick Berghoff, aged 42, appeared in the Police Court to-day, before Mr F. H. Levien, S.M., who made an order for his extradition to Melbourne in the custody of Detective A. J. White. Berghoff was charged that at Prahan, Victoria, between May 16 and June 23, being a clerk or servant in the employ of the Singer Sewing Machine Company, he stole a sewing machine. Detective White produced the original warrant, which, he said, he read to the accused. Berghoff admitted that he was the person named in the warrant. Detective White asked that the accused be remanded to Melbourne, where the offence was alleged to have been committed, and where the original warrant was issued. The accused left this evening by the Monowai for Sydney.
