RECITAL ON FRIDAY

On Friday evening the noted pianist Paul Schramm, who is at present judging the instrumental sections at the Dunedin Competitions Society's annual festival, will give a pianoforte recital. Amongst Mr Schramm's numbers' will be the well-known Beethoven Sonata ("Appasionata"). a bracket of numbers by modern composers, and a £roup of Chopin numbers, including the well-known "Polonaise" in A fiat major. This- programme will be inter'spersed with the finals for the Barling Rose Bowl, contested for by the winning competitors in the vocal test selections. The finalists in the Gilbert and Sullivan contest, in the character sketch, and in the women's humorous recitations will also be heard. Further particulars are advertised.
