BROKEN BY THE HOLDER SUCCESS AT BONNEVILLE BONNEVILLE (Utah), Aug. 11. Captain Jenkins in a 750 h.p. Mormon Meteor 111, set a new 1000mile record of 170.76 miles an hour, bettering his own mark of 168.11 miles an hour. FOUR RECORDS BROKEN BONNEVILLE (Utah), Aug. 11. (Received Aug. 13, at 8.30 p.m.) Captain Jenkin's broke four records held by Captain Eystori, namely, 2000 miles, 2000 kilometres, 3000 kilometres and the 12-hour record. The American Automobile Association ordered Jenkins v tp discontinue his 24-hour assault on world speed records after both Jenkins and the relief driver had been affected by carbon monoxide gas, due to a split exhaust manifold. Both quickly revived.
Fourteen hours had elapsed. Jenkins now holds every record between 10 miles and 24 hours of sustained driving. ■ - . , .
