ROLLER SKATING

Three sessions will be held to-day at the De Luxe Roller Skating Rink, Filleul street, as follows:—Morning. 10 to 12; afternoon. 2.30 to 4.30; evening, 7.30 to 10.45. Prizes will be awarded for the skating competitions at each session. An attraction on August 25 will be the children’s plain and fancy dress carnival, from 2.30 to 5 p.m. Prizes will be given at this function for the best-dressed and the most humorous girl, and the best dressed and most humorous boy. There will also be many prizes for the various competitions. During the carnival hats, caps, streamers, balloons and numerous novelties will be distributed. On September 1 and 2 in Dunedin the New Zealand Amateur Skating Championships will take place, in which competitors from all over the Dominion will take part.
