ITALIANS SHOT
MEMBERS OF AIR FORCE PENALTY FOR ESPIONAGE DISCLOSED BOMBER PLANS WARSAW, Aug. 10. (Received Aug. 10, at 10.30 p.m.) The leading Catholic newspaper reports that Italian officials confiscated all copies of the Osservatore Romano because it disclosed that six engineers, five air force technicians and twenty pilots of the Italian Air Force were arrested in connection with the disclosure of plans of a new Savoia bomber. The journal stated that samples of special duraluminium, 34 per cent lighter than any known, were also found in the possession of a German, Herman Berg. All were found guilty of espionage and shot in the back.
