CENTRAL BULGARIA SHAKEN A SEVERE EARTHQUAKE PEOPLE PANIC STRICKEN (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) SOFIA, Aug. 10. (Received Aug. 10, at 11.55 p.m.) A scene of terror was witnessed in five towns in Central Bulgaria when 800 square miles were shaken by a severe earthquake. Walls cracked, chimneys toppled down, and the inhabitants rushed into the streets panic-stricken. The towns affected included Plovdid, the second largest in Bulgaria. No details of the casualties are available.
