EMERGENCY RATION
IMPERIAL AIRWAYS’ LINERS NEW USE FOR THYRODONE (Special to Daily Times) INVERCARGILL, Aug. ,10. Advice that Thyrodone, a medicinal product made from oysters, is to be carried as an emergency ration by Imperial Airways liners, has been received by Thyrodone Development, Ltd., from its London office. Il is stated that arrangements have been completed with Imperial Airways to have Thyrodone powder in capsule form. One hundred capsules are packed in tin boxes, which are sealed with rubber adhesive tape.
The complete ration for passengers and crew is as follows: Tin of 100 Thyrodone capsules, tin of malted milk tablets, tin of glucose tablets (barley sugar), packet of chewing gum. Recognition by Imperial Airways authorities of the high value of Thyrodone as a concentrate of unusual food dnd medicinal value opens up a new avenue of use for this product, and it is likely to be generally adopted by long-distance air lines Approval of the product for use by Imperial Airways follows an investigation by Harley street specialists, who were convinced after exhaustive tests of its qualities.
