; SOLVENCY OF THE FUND . ACTUARIAL EXAMINATION (FnoM Our Parliamentary Reporter? ; i . WELLINGTON. Aug. 9. An actuarial examination of the National Provident Fund covering a period of 12 years up to December 31. 1937, has shown it to be completely solvent. This is stated in the annual report of the National Provident Fund Board fqr the!year ended December 31. 1938. which Was presented in Parli. to-day. .The report states that the result of the examination is highly satisfactory, particularly in view of "he violent disturbances of the past .decade. New contributors to the fund during t' e year numbered 4064. bringing th total to 29,439. and the year's contributions amounted to £313.900. The total outgo was £355.721. leaving the funds at the end of the year at £5.290.258. The State subsidy for the year was £76.221. '
