KING EDWARD TECHNICAL COLLEGE A NOTABLE OCCASION The essential note struck last night at the King Edward Technical College ball was m Keeping with the dignity which has characterised the round of functions marking the school's fiftieth anniversary. The ball was a pronounced success. It achieved what all functions of this description strive to attain—the bringing together of young and old in an atmosphere of- that friendship born of an association in the classroom. And like all the gatherings this week it was attended in force. There were over 800 present in the Pioneer Hall, and the grand march was led by Dr R Gardner (chairman of the Jubilee Committee) and Mrs Gardner, who wore a green tulle redingote embossed with green and silver flowers over a gown of green taffeta. Among the official guests were Mr and Mrs J. J. Marlow (chairman of the Technical College Board) and Mr W G. Aldridge (principal of the college). whoS was accompanied by Mrs Aldridge, wearing a gown of Romany striped taffeta with a short white fur coat.
