BENCH ASKS BOY'S ADVICE
When a 14-year-old boy, leader of a band of five, was accused of theft at a London juvenile court, the chairman of the magistrates (Councillor H. G. Gay) remarked: "Just think that you are me and I am you. Tell me what you would do with me." Promptly the boy replied: "I would give you another chance, and if you came back again I would put you away." The boy was given another chance.
