NEW DEAL ATTACKED
MR LA GUARDIA'S VIEWS POSSIBLE BID FOR PRESIDENCY NEW YORK, Aug. 8. (Received Aug. 8, at 11.55 p.m.) Sharply attacking the New Deals "plough under policy," Mr La Guardia, the Mayor of New York, urged subsidising the export of meat
and dairy produce. Political cirlces interpret the attack as a possible bid for nomination for the Presidency or the Vice-presidency in 1940. Mr La Guardia said: "I do not believe in destroying what God has given us. We do not suffer from any surplus, and we lack purchasing power to provide for all the people."
