THE CHINESE DOLLAR
A FURTHER SLUMP NEW LOW LEVEL REACHED SHANGHAI, Aug. 7. (Received Aug. 8, at 11.55 p.m.) The Chinese dollar slumped to a new low level when the market closed below 4d. Chinese banking circles express the opinion that nothing but further extension of British credits to replenish the nearly-exhausted stabilisation fund would save the situation.
