RETURNED SOLDIERS' ASSOCIATION

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE A meeting of the executive of the Dunedin Returned Soldiers* Association was held last night, there being present Messrs J. M. White (president). W. F. Forrester. A. Duncan, L. G. Mill, N. R. Wilson. W. K. Cameron, R. Duerdon, S. G. Scoular. J. McKnight and W. H. Thomson. Membership The totals in the membership campaign to date were reported to be Christchurch 2177. Dunedin 1886. Tree Planting Scheme The tree planting scheme being carried out at Roxburgh was reported on by the president of the Roxburgh branch of the association (Mr G Burton), who approached the executive concerning a continuation of the association's subsidy towards the cost of the work. Considerable discussion ensued regarding the-question of a further develooment of the scheme, and a decision wa's held over until a subsequent meeting. General It was reported that Mr Duerdon had given a rose bowl for a table bowls competition, and Mr Duerdon was thanked for his gift. The arrangements for the reunion to be held on September 8 in the Pioneer Hall were discussed and completed. It was reported that country reunions would be held as follows:--Waikouaiti, August 19: Roxburgh, September 23; Lawrence. Octooer 14 Cromwell. November 4
