PEACE FRONT TO AVERT WAR

"The object of the Peace Front is not to win a war, but to avert war. said Mr Anthony Eden in a recent speech "We desire to create a deterrent which will give pause to any nation contemplating a further act of aggression. Clearly, the more powerful the deterrent the greater the chances of preserving peace. He nointed out that when he visited Moscow four vears ago on behalf of the Eritjsh Government it was stated that the interests of Britain and Russia were nowhere in conflict. "lam convinced that that statement was true then." said Mr Eden. "It is true to-day. Our dislike of Communism cannot blind us to the fact that Russia is not an aggressive Power, nor an expansionist Power. She has need of peace, as we have need of peace."
