PADEREWSKI'S HEALTH

Following the illness which caused the cancellation of .his recital at Madison Square Garden, M. Paderewski may never give another concert. Late next afternoon he was able to walk from his private railway coach at the Grand Central Station and drive to an hotel. Arrangements were made for him to sail for Europe in the Normandie. There is some doubt about whether he actually had a heart attack. When he was taken ill on the way to the hall, his doctor warned him that it would be dangerous to appear on the platform. His press representative said that he did not believe M. Paderewski would ever give another concert. "He is completely worn out," he said. Many of the audience of 15,000 for the recital refused to ask for a return of their money.
