July 19 A fortnight’s unremitting search on the slopes of Hikurangi Mountain for a missing Maori pig hunter named Dave Campbell ended yesterday,.when the search party disbanded. Campbell is believed to have died from injuries or exposure on the fogbound heights, where he was separated from his two companions while hunting on June 30 Tlje missing man was an experienced bushman. but those who took part in the search declare that experience was practically valueless in the conditions prevailing then. Campbell was 22 years of age and single.
