TOWN HALL DANCE
LES WILSON TO APPEAR Mr Les. Wilson, the 14-year-old Dunedin “Yodelling cowboy,” who has gained much popularity during the past few weeks, will be a performer at the Town Hall Dance on Saturday night. The music will be supplied by Mr Dick Colvin’s radio band, assisted by the two vocalists, Miss Irene Brookes and Mr James MacFarlane. There will be another heat of the men’s vocalist contest. Mr James Wilkinson and a competitor who has taken the name of the “Singing Taxi-Driver.” will be seen and heard in the item. Over 300 women representatives from the various basketball clubs in Dunedin have been invited to the dance. The doors will be open at 7 p.m., and early patrons will be able to dance to amplified music until 8 o’clock. Spectators will be admitted to the circle for a small charge and further particulars are advertised.
