ARMY RECRUITING

THE FIGURES FOR JUNE NEARLY FIVE THOUSAND (Brltlsn Official Wireless) RUGBY, July 11. (Received July 12, at 6.30 p.m.) The regular army recruiting for June broke all records for that month since the war. The number accepted was 4672, an increase of about 1000 compared with June, 1933. The total intake during the quarter ended June 30 was 14,281, compared with 10,233 for the corresponding quarter of 1938, and 10.588 during the first quarter of 1939. This total, like that for June, also broke all regular army recruiting records for any quarter since the war.
