AMERICAN STRIKERS ACT TO BE ENFORCED WASHINGTON, July 12. (Received July 13, at 1 a.m.)_ Thousands of dismissal notices were sent out to, strikers by the Works Progress Administration tonight after President Roosevelt, despite a move within Congress to restore the union wage rate, ordered the W.P.A. Act to be enforced. Colonel Harrington, W.P.A. administrator* threatened to * crack down ” on men who are not striking but adopting go slow tactics. The majority of the strikers are skilled workers who object to working longer hours for the same income. •
