“THE LONE WOLF SPY HUNT” Greatest of fiction’s most lovable rogues, the Lone Wolf, is known to many through Louis Joseph Vance’s thrilling stories. The first of a new series, “The Lone Wolf Spy Hunt,' featuring a new Lone Wolf—Warren William—will be screened at the Grand Theatre to-day. William, with his sophistication, adroitness and fine flair for comedy, is ideally fast as the Lone Wolf. Beautiful blonde Ida Lupino is co-featured as the lovely determined debutante who wants to marry the Lone Wolf who does not want to marry anybody! Virginia Weidler. the brat of many a film, is seen as the Lone Wolf’s detective-playing daughter. Ralph Morgan is the “ .nurderous-but-nice ” gentleman who heads the spy ring, and Rita Hayworth is seen as his “ murderous-but-lovelv chief lieutenant.”
In ‘My Son is a Criminal,” the associate picture, Alan Baxter appears as the gangster son of a retired police chief. As a boy he played around the police headquarters: as a young man he still has free entry into any office. Thus, he easily learns the movements of squad cars and is enabled to plan his robberies accordingly Featured with Alan Baxter in this unusual crime film, are Jacqueline Wells. Gordon Oliver and Willard Robertson.
